Glitter Goals ⭐

I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas and all the best for the New Year!  Things are much different this year with everyone being in their bubble due to the pandemic.  A lot of lives have been altered in the process but we all must continue to keep safe!  Although I have been staying at home much like the rest of us, I would be remissed if I didn't say that I've been ordering makeup online now and trying out new products 😉

I quickly fell in love with "Glitter Goals" liquid lipstick from NYX cosmetics.  I am wearing it in Crystal Crush.  Get yours at www.nyxcosmetics.com.  Perfect for the Holiday Season!

Stay blessed and Stay safe!! xoxo

Supporting Black-Owned Fashion Designers ❤

With all that has transpired within the past few months of living in the Pandemic of Covid-19, we cannot deny that this time has caused us to take a moment to reflect and acknowledge the injustice that our world is facing.    A spotlight was shining on this issue of race and economic differences…and the George Floyd incident was the last straw.

I have taken this time to further educate myself on my people and my culture and all that they have to offer.  I have always sought to support black-owned businesses in my community when I can, and there was a time when I felt there weren’t many black fashion brands out there.  But I realize I was wrong, many of them do exist.  It’s just that they are not given the same attention and consequently, we must do our own research to find them.  I stumbled upon a local Toronto brand entitled TYRELL.  The brand, launched in 2018, features sensual, feminine, chic garments that absolutely hug your curves with such ease and comfort.  TYRELL has it best listed on its site when it says “ balancing between reality and fantasy”, and architecture is key!  Shop TYRELL here:  https://tyrell.shop/

During my research, I also came across an article from one of my favourite fashion magazines Elle.  The magazine put out a great article today entitled “65 Black-Owned And Designed Fashion Brands To Support Forever, From Fenty to Cushnie”.  Check it out!  Much appreciation to Elle for stepping up and producing this article.   https://www.elle.com/uk/fashion/g32727342/black-owned-fashion-brands/

I'm absolutely in love with this snakeskin printed suit!

Fendi Summer

Obviously, I didn't get out to many events this summer due to the Pandemic but I could not let Summer of 2020 pass without one of my favourite looks.  Courtesy of Fendi of course 😉.  I am absolutely in love with these sunglasses.  They complete the look...so fresh and clean! www.fendi.com/

Stay Safe! xoxo

Ready for the Ball!

© Sharma MacDonald c/o dresswithshar.blogspot.ca
In February I attended the TD Black Diamond Ball in Toronto.  It is an exclusive event to mark Black History Month in the city.  I had the privilege of wearing a beautiful gown made just for me.! It is by Nigerian designer HERS by KMY.  I just wanted to share with you all, a full length shot of my gown.  To top it all off, for the first time I tried an Eye Makeup session at Sephora..the ladies there helped to make my glam night complete:) Check out the looks..

Lady In Red!!!!

What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than by wearing Red..the colour of Love!! Valentine's Day derives from Saint Valentine who is said to perform weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians who were often persecuted under the Roman Empire.  Thanks to Saint Valentine's many acts of love and kindness.. Valentine's Day is recognized as a significant cultural, commercial and also religious celebration of romantic love in many regions around the world.  Just a little history lesson for ya 😉
